Helsby High School
Helsby High School is a State-maintained Secondary School on Chester Road in Helsby, north-west Cheshire, UK, for pupils aged between 11 and 18. The Headteacher is Mr Hill.
A big well done to all of our brilliant Y7 & Y8 students who have taken part in Bikeability Level 3 training this week. We are so proud of the way you have applied yourselves so enthusiastically resulting in you earning yourselves your Level 3 qualification! We are grateful to BikeRight! for providing our students with this exciting opportunity, and especially thankful to Paul (on the wall) and Mike (on the Bike) for working with them over the past three days.
Our first four Bikeability groups have had a fantastic time completing their Level 3 Training! All students showed excellent enthusiasm, perseverance and great listening skills, as they put their knowledge and playground practice to the test when hitting the roads. Well done everyone!
Well done to our Year 10 students who have secured some fantastic placements. We can see you have found some great places to experience the workplace such as at local hairderssers, hospitals, vets, primary schools, estate agents and many more! There is still time to find your own placement for the 17th & 18th July please contact edoughtery@helsbyhigh.org if you need any help or support.
Year 13 were joined by Kate from Huddersfield University last week who gave them invaluable advice about how to budget, specifically at University, but she also shared relevant information for those wishing to embark on apprenticeships, gap years and full-time jobs. Kate shared tips and advice about the steps students can take to ensure they feel financially prepared for life after Sixth Form and know how to prioritise payments.
Sixth Form Helsby were delighted to welcome former student Sonny Dean back to Helsby yesterday to discuss his experience as a degree apprentice working towards qualifying as an Economist in Government Economic Services. We were thrilled to hear how Sonny is progressing, and it was inspiring for our current Year 12 students to hear his success story! A big thank you to Sonny, from students and staff alike, for his informative talk and the knowledge and guidance shared. #achievingsusccess
