There was excitement and celebration in equal measure at Helsby High School this morning as Year 11 students received their examination results. The students’ hard work and commitment has led to richly-deserved success in their GCSE and vocational qualifications, setting them up to progress on to the next stages in their lives.
Mike Griffin, their Year Leader, commented: “I could not be prouder of our Year 11 students today. These GCSE results reflect years of sustained hard work, resilience, and genuine dedication from a truly exceptional cohort. Watching them grow, support one another, and overcome challenges has been a privilege. A huge thank you goes to our staff for their tireless support, and to our families for their constant encouragement. Whether our students are joining our Sixth Form, heading into apprenticeships or pursuing other exciting pathways, they leave this stage of their education with strong foundations and bright futures ahead.”
Headteacher Martin Hill said: “Once again, students at the school have performed strongly across all areas of the school’s curriculum, with over three quarters of all students achieving a Grade 4 or above in English and in Maths. Equally impressive was performance at higher grades, with over half of the year group achieving a ‘strong’ GCSE pass of Grade 5 or above in those key subject areas. It was wonderful to see the delight on students’ faces at seeing their results this morning and we now wish them all the very best for the future.”
Amongst the many Helsby High students celebrating today were the following, who impressively achieved the very highest possible Grade 9 in two or more of their GCSE subjects they studied: Daisy Buckthorpe; Rosie Butler; Millie Eaton; Gemma Fulton; Richard Mann; Elise Roscoe; Bethany Sheppard; Nathan Sherriff; Isla Smith and Sukie White.
