Year 13 Results Day – Thursday 13th August 2026

There was joy all round at Helsby High School this morning as Year 13 students received their A-Level and vocational qualification results, with the achievements of the ‘Class of 2026’ richly deserved in an extremely successful year for the school’s Sixth Form. It was lovely to see parents and staff joining the students as they opened exam envelopes to receive the rewards of all their hard work over the last two years.

Director of Sixth Form, Tor Cross, said: “I could not be prouder of our Year 13 students and how they have significantly exceeded their challenging academic targets as a cohort. This year group has shown dogged resilience throughout their two years at Sixth Form, working diligently at every stage to achieve the success we have seen today. Just as importantly, they have thrown themselves into the many opportunities available to them at Sixth Form Helsby and leave us not only with excellent grades and first-choice next steps secured, but as confident, mature and well-rounded young people who have been an absolute pleasure to know. This morning was a truly joyous occasion, full of pride and emotion and a wonderful celebration of their hard work, determination and of the fantastic people they have become.”

Once again, the results achieved by Sixth Form Helsby’s students are exceptionally strong, with top A*/A (or equivalent) grades making up well over a fifth of all grades. Headteacher, Martin Hill commented: “This year’s cohort achieved well across all 27 of the A-Level and vocational qualifications they studied. The students fully deserve their fantastic success and their grades have enabled 94% of our applicants to go on to study at their first-choice university, well above the 79% national average. Other students have secured impressive apprenticeship placements and employment both locally and nationally and we wish all of them well as they now move on from Sixth Form Helsby.”

With over 40% of the cohort achieving a top grade (A*/A or equivalent) in at least one of their subjects, among the many students celebrating at Helsby this morning were the following, who achieved the very highest possible (A* or equivalent) grade in their studies: Xavier Allen; Lucy Blythe; Samantha Fisher; Chloe Forsyth; Mollie Jones; Alex Rogers; Grace Sharpes and Evie Trezise.
