We are so proud of Year 12 student Kayley Y, who, after being selected to participate in the BFI Short Film Academy for aspiring filmmakers, will see her work played at the Northern Exposure Short Film night at the Storyhouse in Chester. Kayley has worked incredibly hard on this project, impressively earning herself a richly-deserved spot on a further Filmmaking project residential, where she will travel down to London in March. Kayley is studying Media, English Language and English Literature at A Level, and is proving to have an exceptional natural flair in these subjects! Well done Kayley, we can’t wait to hear all about the next stage of this project.
Here is what Kayley had to say about her experience:
“I spent the October half-term at the Storyhouse in Chester to participate in the BFI Short Film Academy with other aspiring filmmakers my age. It was really fun to get hands-on experience with actual industry standard equipment, and meeting people with the same interests as me, along with gaining a Silver Arts Award. I recommend it to anybody interested in the film and/or the creative industry, as it helped me with networking and my confidence in working with people I’d never met before, as well as my technical abilities as a filmmaker.”
