Although applications for Sixth Form Helsby are still open we are pleased to have sent out our offer letters.
Thank you to everyone who has added an application for a place to join Sixth Form Helsby. We have been impressed by the level of confidence shown in the recent Sixth Form Interviews and by the maturity with which students discussed their future plans and subject choices. We are delighted to be able to send out our letters offering students a conditional place to study with us in Sixth Form Helsby.
This offer is conditional and will be determined by examination results in the summer meeting the entry requirements for our Sixth Form and the entry requirements, if applicable, for course choices. Please note, subject entry requirements are there to ensure that students are only enrolled on courses that are suitable for their ability.
Our standard entry requirement is five Level 2 qualifications (GCSE, BTEC or equivalent) at grade 4 or above. Those subjects who have their own minimum subject entry requirements advertise these at the top of each subject page in our Sixth Form Helsby prospectus. Our online prospectus can be found on our website or via the link below.

Transitioning to Sixth Form is an exciting time and we will support students with the journey from Year 11, through into Year 12. I know that many students will have already been able to take part in some of our Transition events such as Yr10 Lesson Taster Days, Yr11 into Sixth Form Day, and Sixth Form Course Consultation Evening. These events ensure everyone is able to enjoy the transition to Level 3 study and start their Sixth Form life in a positive and focused way. Below you will find some further transition events that will help prepare you both pastorally, and academically, for life at Sixth Form Helsby.

When still in Year 11:

We are pleased to say that students who study with us achieve highly with half of students in 2023 achieving grade A*- B, and over 80% of students going on to study at their first choice destination after securing these excellent results. We are also pleased to say that 96% of Year 12 parents feel that Sixth Form Helsby has high expectations for their child and 98% feel their child is happy at Sixth Form Helsby. We believe that this is due to the bespoke education we are able to offer our students and we look forward to welcoming our new students to be part of the Sixth Form Helsby Community.
