Thank you to those who attended this evening. This was our final Information Evening for Year 13 where we provided more detailed information regarding the arrangements for the examinations and how we at Sixth Form Helsby and yourselves can work together over this exam season to support our students.
Upon reviewing the examination timetable, we feel it is important for us to continue to provide support from course teachers to allow students to prepare well for their examinations. Therefore, we feel it is in the students’ best interests to ensure they have access to their class teachers as per their timetable until the morning of Friday 24th May, when study leave will commence. Examinations begin, however, on the 15th May and we understand that if students have an examination between 15th May and the 24th of May they may prefer, and indeed it may be very useful, for them to study at home before an examination. If they do not have an examination, then lessons will run as normal and teachers will be supporting students with revision, be able to answer questions on a 1:1 basis and will be able to help them with notes and other preparations.
Whilst this is a potentially challenging time for all our students as they embark upon their examinations, it is also a time for celebration. We are incredibly proud of all our students and how they have continued to remain positive and focused on their learning as we have navigated the many challenges over the last few years. As such, we would like to provide an opportunity for students to come together and celebrate their many successes, share memories and acknowledge their time so far at Helsby High School. We will be hosting a rewards and celebratory event for students during the morning of Friday 10th May at 9:15 in the dining hall at school, ahead of the Year 13 Prom that takes place after the examination season on Thursday 4th July.
