Year 10 Princes Trust Enterprise Competition

We are extremely proud of the fantastic Year 10 GCSE Business Studies students who, we are delighted to share, have secured a much-deserved spot in the Regional Finals of the Princes Trust Enterprise competition, after being named the winner of the County Heats, where they competed against teams from across Cheshire and Merseyside. In this competition, we saw 4 of our teams place within the top 10 teams in the county, a phenomenal achievement! Well done everyone! #achievingsuccess
Our winning team have summarised their experience in the competition so far, and we are thrilled to share it with you.

The Princes Trust came in to school to work with Year 10 Business classes. We were all given team mentors who helped us to develop our understanding of the world of work and enterprise skills. We had to show strengths in our teamwork, decision making, problem solving and creative thinking and how businesses can have a positive impact on their wider community. We used Pop-Up which is a business simulation game that puts young people in charge of starting and running a brand-new pop-up business. The game is based around making strategic business decisions from choosing what to sell and for how much, to where to set-up shop and how to attract customers. Our goal was to create a thriving pop-up business within eight weeks of simulated trading that balances building hype, making a profit and taking ethical business decisions. Our team BHO & Co won on the day and we did so well that we won in the county and made it through to the regional finals 15th April.
