Year 6 Open Evening Events – 4th & 6th Oct 5:30 – 7:30

Headteacher’s talk at 5:40pm in the main hall.

We are pleased to welcome our partner primary schools to our Open Evening event at Helsby High School on the following days:

Tuesday 4th October: Ashton Hayes, Elton, Frodsham CoE, Horn’s Mill, Kingsley CP, St Luke’s

Thursday 6th October: Alvanley/Manley, Aston-by-Sutton, Frodsham Manor House, Frodsham Primary Academy, Helsby Hillside, Kingsley St John’s & All Other Primary Schools

It is a real pleasure to be able to invite you and your child to one of our Open Evenings early next month. The evening will provide you with an opportunity to meet with current students and staff, see many of our facilities in use and get a feel for the school’s ethos and atmosphere as you consider the very important choice of secondary school for your child. Last year, Covid restrictions meant that we hosted two evenings, rather than just having the one very busy Open Evening as previously. Feedback from the evenings was very positive, with students and parents appreciating having more space and opportunities to meet and talk with High School students and staff.

We are therefore hosting two evenings again this year and have allocated different primary schools to the two different evenings. The evening will begin with a talk by myself, supported by some of our students, for approximately 30 minutes in the Main Hall and then current Helsby students will lead tours around the school’s different departments and facilities. Senior staff will be available throughout the evening to answer questions about the school and the process of moving on to secondary school. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us (via openevening@helsbyhigh.org) if you have any queries ahead of our Open Evenings. I very much look forward to meeting you and your child on 6 th October and would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the academic year ahead and for your child’s exciting transition to secondary education.

Mr Martin Hill
