Sixth Form Helsby Open Event – Thursday 9th October 2025 – 5:30pm-7:30pm
The Sixth Form Leadership Team will give identical talks by invitation at 5:30pm and 6:15pm in the Main Hall.
We are delighted to invite prospective Sixth Form Helsby students and their families to sample some of the opportunities on offer at our vibrant Sixth Form. We invite you to visit our department areas to experience some, or all, of the 30 courses on offer and hear from some of our focused and inspiring students.
Mrs V Cross, Director of Sixth Form, and the rest of the dedicated Sixth From team will be hosting welcome talks at 5:30pm and 6:15pm by emailed invitation, but details are also below. Please note that there is an open invitation to students from other schools to the 5:30pm talk.

Sixth Form Helsby are proud to offer a choice of 30 exciting courses at A-Level, BTEC, Level 3 or equivalent. We have a track record of excellent outcomes for students, and we successfully support students’ onwards progression. The results achieved by the ‘Class of 2025′ were impressive with 20+% of all grades at A*/A or equivalent, and with 88% of students achieving their first choice University destination, which was well above the national average.
In addition to a guaranteed excellent education, we provide students with a comprehensive pastoral support system, and an innovative Network structure to encourage students to maximise their potential and achieve their desired future pathways. Our programme of academic support, intervention and rigour means that students achieve highly and are ready for the next steps of their learning. We provide all of our students with award winning careers guidance, provided from staff within school, and from independent careers advisors.
We enrich our students, so they leave Sixth Form Helsby as well-rounded, employable individuals, with the appropriate skills to navigate life beyond Sixth Form Helsby. We encourage Student leadership roles through our wide range of opportunities for personal and academic development at Sixth Form Helsby, and we provide a weekly timetabled enrichment curriculum, offering diverse opportunities for our students to discover new skills and hobbies.
