On Friday 6th December, 50 excited Year 7 students and staff boarded a coach and headed to the Chester Storyhouse for a fun-filled festive evening. The trip proved to be a great success and our wonderful students were excellent ambassadors of our school, which was especially important as we took up almost half of the theatre! One member of the audience commented that the experience was made even more enjoyable for them due to the reactions of our students, we really did laugh (and boo!).
Thank you to Emma J and Ella R who have each written a lovely account of their first trip as Helsby students, that they enjoyed so much. We are delighted to share these. Well done to Emma and Ella for sharing their experience with us, and to all of our fantastic attendees, it really did prove to be a wonderful evening!
Our Christmas Pantomime (by Ella R)
‘My night at the pantomime trip was a core memory for me. From the very beginning before we even got on the coach to the very end when we arrived back at school, I was so happy! I was with my friends all evening, and there wasn’t a minute that I didn’t spend laughing! When we arrived at the theatre, we found our seats amongst the audience and we were ready to have an amazing night. As the performance was about to begin, I looked around the large room and saw little children so excited, my class chatting and laughing, my teachers dancing and eagerly waiting for it to start. During the whole pantomime, my friends and I shared giggles, songs and jokes together, we enjoyed feeling little once again! My favourite part of the show was when Maleficent amazed us by singing a Taylor Swift song and me and my friends sang our hearts out in awe! This trip was one to never forget…’
My First Helsby High School Trip (by Emma J)
‘When we arrived at the Storyhouse theatre I noticed that it looked really nice, it was grand and very big. As we made our way inside and were guided to our seats the stage caught my eye as it was pink and sparkling, just like a fairy tale! The show began and it was amazing to see the actors and actresses performing just like the real characters! I really enjoyed the trip!’
