Year 13 Results Day – Thursday 15th August 2024

Students, parents and staff were celebrating this morning as the ‘Class of 2024’ opened their envelopes, revealing another set of fantastic results for Sixth Form students at Helsby High School.

Delighted Director of Sixth Form, Tor Cross commented: “We are so proud of everything that our students have done, achieved and experienced over the last two years and to now receive such wonderful results in their exams is a very well-deserved reward for their all their hard work and commitment. As a cohort they have met their challenging targets and it was brilliant to see students securing their first-choice next steps in their lives this morning. We really do wish each and every one of them all the very best as they now move on to university, apprenticeships or employment.”

Headteacher, Martin Hill said: “The results achieved by the ‘Class of 2024’ are amongst the school’s best-ever, with top grades (A* and A) making up nearly a third of all grades and well over half of all grades at B or above, which is really impressive and above national average. Students achieved well across all 30 of the A-Level and Vocational qualifications they studied and a significant number secured top grades in all of their subjects. The students fully deserve their success and we wish them all well as they now move on from our Sixth Form to their chosen destinations.”

Amongst the many students celebrating at Helsby this morning were the following, who achieved the top grades in all of their Sixth Form subjects: Emily Anderson (Biology, Chemistry, French and History); Lucy Clift (Criminology and Health & Social Care); Millie Glancey (Biology, Chemistry and Maths); Lily Nicholson (French, Maths and Psychology); James Rogers (Art, History and Maths) and Heather Salmon (Biology, Chemistry and Maths).
