Year 12 started a 3-day Recruitment Ready and Future Planning programme of workshops and speakers on Monday 15 July. Starting the event was the excellent motivational speaker Alex Staniforth who talked about resilience, overcoming obstacles and tackling your own Everest.
Young Chamber provided support with facilitators from Leap 76 and Wrexham and Chester HR services supporting students with CV Writing and a fun way of putting yourself forward and having your voice heard. Bank of America provided guidance on interview skills and techniques. Thank you to all our visitors for supporting us to make this day so successful!
Following this, Year 12 enjoyed an insightful day at Manchester Metropolitan University. They listened to various informative talks, participated in university style activities and explored the state of the art campus. Staff and students alike had a great day!
On Wednesday, we welcomed Professionals from Nat West Bank, DPD UK Ltd, Altimex, Complete Education Solutions, Cogent, Nuffield Health, and volunteer parents & professionals sourced by Young Chamber, who took Year 12 through 1:1 interviews and feedback sessions. This experience proved invaluable for students, and they were all so thankful for the expert feedback, tips and advice they were given!
We were pleased to round off the week with an excellent future pathways talk from Vicky at Project Trust, who discussed all things Gap Years and the array of exciting and extremely rewarding, volunteering opportunities available to our students around the world.
